In mid April, 17 Global Travelers representing 9 states arrived in Tulsa for fun, fellowship, and service. A huge thank you to member Merna Gill who organized all the week-end’s events.
Attendees visiting a variety of sights in Tulsa. Like last years event in Kansas City, this event left attendees surprised and pleased by how much there is to see and do in Tulsa. It’s very rewarding for one of our members, like Merna, to have the opportunity to showcase a part of the country that might be considered a hidden gem.
And Route 66? 2026 is the centennial of its opening. And it runs right through Tulsa.

On Friday, our Global Travelers attended the meeting of the Sand Springs Rotary Club. Our club president Lenet Compton was the featured speaker, providing an overview of our unique club. We love the opportunity to share our story with other clubs, and we can do so without giving any impression of trying to “poach” members because we offer associate membership.
We really appreciate the foresight of our founders in inventing the concept of associate membership so people have the option to join us without leaving their local, physical club. Today, 54% of Global Travelers are associate members who also belong to their local Rotary club.
Saturday was service day. We helped pack supplies at Medical Supplies Network, Inc. Working together on a service project is always one of our favorite parts of being together IRL (in real life).
Enjoy more photos of Global Travelers getting their kicks on Route 66. And in case you’re wondering, “Get Your Kicks on Route 66” was a song recorded The King Cole Trio in 1946. You can listen to it hear while you browse the photos.
