We are a club of Global Travelers, seeing the world together. Here are a few of the places we’ve been since our club began in 2021.
Tulsa — April 2026
In mid April, 17 Global Travelers representing 9 states arrived in Tulsa for fun, fellowship, and service. A huge thank you to member Merna Gill who organized all the week-end’s events, including social gatherings, attending a local Rotary meeting, and a service project. Read more.
Florida — February 2026
On the first weekend in February, several dozen Global Travelers gathered in Florida for fun, fellowship, and service. We toured old Ybor, swam with manatees, ate great food, and watched the big game. Plus we did a day of service for ARC of Tampa. Some of us tacked on a Caribbean cruise. Read more.
Hawaii — December 2025
In December 2025, many Global Travelers enjoyed the warmth and Aloha hospitality of Hawaii. We gathered in Honolulu for social time together and to participate in a genki ball service project to clean up a canal. Many of us extended our visit with a cruise around the Islands. Ecuador & Peru — October 2025
In October 2025, Global Travelers spent several weeks touring Ecuador, including the magical Galapagos islands. Many of the travelers also participated in a “pre-trip” to Peru to visit iconic Machu Picchu. You can view the video trip leader Lenet Compton’s report on this outstanding trip here.
Northern Minnesota — Sept 2025
In September 2025, many Global Travelers headed “Up North” for our fall social and service project. We participated in a Habitat for Humanity build in Alexandria, Minnesota. Then we headed to member Paula Schwartz’ lovely home in Merrifield for fun and fellowship.
Calgary — June 2025
In June 2025, nearly 40 Global Travelers attended the Rotary International Convention in Calgary, Canada. We shared memorable experiences and returned home inspired by all that Rotarians do around the world. View the video of Melanie DeLuca’s report live from the convention.
Eastern Europe — May 2025
In May 2025, member Rick Olson led two trips through Eastern Europe, one northbound and one southbound. Several dozen members enjoyed memorable experiences together. View the video of the meeting where Rick shared highlights of the trip.
Kansas City — April 2025
Several dozen Global Travelers gathered in Kansas City for fellowship, exploration, and service. We did a service project at Heart to Heart International, we explored the area, we ate a lot, and we had so much fun! Read about it here.
Amazon, Brazil — March 2025
38 Global Travelers, family, and friends shared an amazing experience in the Brazilian Amazon. Member Ken Hiller created this immersive, informative video of our experience. It’s 19 minutes of sheer delight. Grab a glass of wine or your favorite refreshing tropical drink, sit back, and enjoy.
Ethiopia — Jan / Feb 2025
A daring dozen Global Travelers visited Ethiopia in January 2025. We had amazing, exhausting, and sometimes uncomfortable experiences. Read about it here.

Florida — January 2025
Many of us got together and escaped the cold in Largo, Florida, at the home of Mark and Corrine Lewis. We also participated in a service project organized by Colin Beach. Read more.
Cuba — December 2024
Member Merna Gill has led multiple small-group trips to Cuba. She has a love of the country and strong relationships, and she loves to share that with fellow Rotarians. Read Lenet Compton’s description of this recent trip.
Danube — November 2024
This was our first fund-raising trip, and it was a big success. Travelers had a great time, and we raised about $5,000 for our club foundation. Read more about it and see the pictures here.
Northern Minnesota — September 2024
Fall in northern Minnesota has become a Global Travelers tradition. We gathered at the lovely lake home of Paula and Thomas Schwartz for a chili cook-off, garden tour, pickleball, and lots of great social time. Read more.
And we started a new tradition by adding a service project — a Habitat for Humanity build. Read more.
MN State Fair — August 2024
A number of Global Travelers joined the District 5950 celebration of Rotary on a Stick at the Minnesota State Fair. We even joined the parade.
Singapore — June 2024
In June 2024, a handful of Global Travelers flew all the way to Singapore to attend the Rotary International Convention.
Egypt — April 2024
In April, nearly 40 Global Travelers, friends, and family shared an amazing tour of Egypt. The trip including celebrating the success of our grant to a liver cancer hospital.
Colombia — 1Q 2024
Several dozen Global Travelers traveled to Colombia to meet with Rotarians, celebrate our global grant project, and enjoy the sights of this beautiful country. Watch the video of the trip report here.
Bonita Springs — January 2024
A warm-weather get together in Florida has become a tradition. In 2024, Al and Kathy Kowalcyk hosted us at their Bonita Springs home.
Northern MN — September 2023
In September 2023, Paula and Thomas Schwartz hosted the 2nd annual fall social at their lake home in Merrifield, Minnesota.
Kenya — Aug / Sept 2023
Member Nancy Laible led a small group of Global Travelers on an amazing visit to Kenya. They met with Rotarians and visited several projects where the Laibles are important partners. And they shared amazing wildlife experiences.
Fridley, MN — June 2023
In June 2023, we gathered for potluck at the home of Nancy and Steve Laible in Fridley, Minnesota, to celebrate our club’s two-year anniversary and to pass the torch to a new president.
Norway — April / May 2023
A handful of Global Traveling women experienced the wonders of Norway together on the Hurtigruten Express.
Northern MN — October 2022
We started what has become a tradition, gathering at the lake home of Paula and Thomas Schwartz for a fall retreat.
Vietnam — October 2022
Our first major trip together as Global Travelers. About 20 of us shared incredible experiences in Vietnam.
Balsam Lake, WI — July 2022
Early days of our Global Travelers Club. We sought opportunities to get together in person and strategize. Tough duty planning on a pontoon boat.
Florida — January 2022
In January 2022, we hosted our first “snowbird retreat” in Florida. This has become an annual tradition.
South Dakota — October 2021
Our members only went to South Dakota, but the baseball equipment and food that we packed went all the way to Nicaragua.
Northern MN — Summer 2021
As our Rotary Global Travelers club got underway in the summer of 2021, we embarked on the tradition of combining work and play, especially with water and boats involved. Our core group met at Schwartz’s lake home in northern Minnesota for some serious planning and fun.
