Close to 30 Global Tavelers had a wonderful time with lots of fun, friendship, and service when they traveled to Alaska in June, 2026.
First on the Agenda: A Cruise
Part of the group started in Vancouver, BC with a few days sightseeing before boarding the Ovation of the Seas for a 7-day cruise.
Rotarians bumped into each other playing cards, at the cabaret, and at the theatre, where they had a great time watching Kelly get hypnotised. Trivia night questions were about the names of various countries around the world. How is it that we didn’t win?
Next Up: Fellowship and Service
Everyone enjoyed a halibut fish fry put on by the Alaska Global Travelers crew, along with local Rotarians and four Rotary Exchange Students. It was quite nippy, as you can tell by the coats.
The first day in Seward, people enjoyed various adventures like visiting with sled dogs, whale watching, helicopter rides, and fishing.
The next day, Rotarians visited the not-to-be-missed Alaska Sea Life Center. We made a donation on behalf of Global Travelers, then rolled up our sleeves to pick up trash and spruce up the grounds. A big thanks to Jess and Adam for hosting.
And Last, But By No Means Least: Denali
Rotarians who stayed on after the service project took a 6.5-hour journey on the Alaska Express train from Anchorage to Denali. Groups split off for hiking, viewing nature, and visiting with sled dogs.
A big thanks to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to plan this trip and service project, and to all the Rotarians, family members, and guests who came along to make the time together so enjoyable.
If you want to see the entire trip presentation—including some questionable moose-riding photos—you can do so here. The video starts at the 5 minute mark.
