Imagine helping to protect a child from polio in the morning, then standing before the Taj Mahal at sunrise the very next day. That’s exactly what awaits you on our upcoming trip to northern India.

At Global Travelers, we believe the most memorable journeys combine seeing new places with service to create unforgettable experiences. In September 2027, Associate Member Rahul Wadhwa invites us to do exactly that.

Beginning in Delhi and continuing through Agra and Jaipur, this six-day trip blends India’s iconic landmarks and culture with the opportunity to take part in one of Rotary’s greatest humanitarian efforts, the fight to end polio.

You’ll join local Rotarians, representatives from UNICEF and the World Health Organization, and community health workers for a National Immunization Day near Agra where you’ll visit villages and underserved communities as a group to administer life-saving oral polio vaccine to children under five.

Rotary has been fighting polio for more than 45 years. Since the Global Polio Eradication Initiative began in 1988, cases have declined by more than 99.9 percent. We’re closer than ever to eliminating this disease, but until polio is gone everywhere, our work needs to continue. Participating in this campaign gives you a chance to become part of that effort.

And then, after making a difference, you’ll visit some of India’s iconic sites, including the Taj Mahal and the impressive Agra Fort, learn about marble inlay from local artisans, visit local bazaars, and yes…you can ride an elephant, too.

Have you heard of an e-rickshaw? You’ll ride through Old Delhi in one, taste regional cuisine, and have traditional Indian clothing custom-made for a photo session at one of the world’s most famous monuments.

The time in India will be from September 17 to 22, 2027. The trip includes five nights’ accommodation in 5-star or similar quality hotels, breakfasts, four lunches, transportation, sightseeing, guides, monument entrance fees, and participation in the Rotary polio immunization event.

If you’re not ready for the adventure to end, you’re welcome to join the group traveling to Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet. Or simply return home knowing you’ve had an unforgettable week helping to eradicate polio and experiencing India up close and personal.

Whether you’ve always wanted to visit India, have dreamed of participating in a National Immunization Day, or are simply looking for a trip with your fellow club members,  this is an experience that will stay with you for years to come.

We hope you’ll join us.
