When two groups of Global Travelers headed to the Amazon in 2025, they came home with plenty of photos. They also came home with stories.

Stories about meeting Indigenous people. About swimming with pink dolphins. About sunsets over the Rio Negro and sleeping on an open-air boat. And about friendships made over shared meals, village visits, service projects, and conversations on deck.

And we heard all about their happiness at having no mosquitoes!

The good news? We’re going back. If a trip to the Amazon is on your bucket list, keep reading.

What Awaits You in 2027?

From March 14–20, 2027, Global Travelers return to the Brazilian Amazon for a week that combines adventure, culture, service, and fellowship in one of the world’s most remarkable places.

This isn’t a trip spent peering at the rainforest from a distance. You’ll travel aboard the Belo Shabono, a small expedition boat that becomes your floating home as you make your way along the Rio Negro.

As you go, you’ll visit Indigenous communities, meet local families, and see how people actually live along the river.

You’ll explore the famous Meeting of the Waters, canoe through backwater channels in search of wildlife, visit the Anavilhanas Archipelago, and discover why piranha are more exciting in real life than in a travel documentary.

There’s also time to learn about local foods like manioc, tapioca, and açaí, and take part in service projects, including releasing baby turtles into the river and planting a tree in the rainforest.

See It Through the Eyes of Fellow Global Travelers

Want to see what it’s all about? Check out the Amazon Brochure- March 2027. (Note: the date on the brochure is incorrect. The trip is now March 14-20.)

And also, thanks to member Ken Hiller, you can see real Global Travelers in action (along with spurts of not-so-much action) in this informative video. It’s 19 delightful minutes long and gives you an idea of what to expect. Grab a glass of wine or your favorite tropical beverage, sit back and enjoy.

I’m sure you’ve heard many of the people who went on the 2025 trip talk about how interesting it was. So if you missed it last time, this is your opportunity.

Space Is Limited to 6-10

This trip is US$ 2,900 per person. Although registration doesn’t close until January 13, 2027, we’re sure this will sell out soon.

Watch Ken’s video, review the brochure, and if you’re interested or have questions, email Mike DeLuca.

If you’ve been thinking “maybe someday,” now might be a good time to change that to “why not March?”
